The story is changed in some important and I think that affect the credibility with the audience. In principle, the film features a happy couple, Jess (Gellar) and Ryan (Michael Landes) love and live a peaceful life. The only thing that makes noise in your home, is the presence of Ryan's brother, Roman(Lee Pace), who is ex-convict, violent and emotionally unstable. All three live under the same roof but Jess always asks Ryan to get rid of him. Roman is a strong and enigmatic in the house and Jess feels threatened and intimidated. One day, (and this is where the strong patina Petroni script), there is a pile-up (or something) on a bridge between Ryan and Roman ... You can imagine that the two brothers clash in a bridge so popular? Each traveling in opposite direction apparent, which is hard to think such a coincidence. Well, the script does not explain much (except that Roman wanted to go home becauseJess knew that she hated him and his brother had promised to move it as I could), and end the two brothers critically injured next to each other in the same hospital ward to which they are transferred. In the Korean version, the two brothers have accidents, but in different places, but at the same time. Which, somehow sounds less forced to what is proposed here. Well, Jess is then carried to the medical center and sees her husband and brother, both in deep coma with poor prognoses. Soon to be there, Roman will awaken from their slumber, claiming to be Ryan, in another body. Roman insist quand he is the husband of Jess and should take his place, but now is in the body of his brother. Then will our heroine begins to suspect that something sinister lies behind this change in personality and behavior closely monitor Ryan, seeking to understand what happens inside to confirm the possibility that this is true. Without anticipating more, there is a way to move in that quest and is the viewer who must be attentive to the clues that are left betrayed in the story. There is a lot of supernatural environment, which encourages good music keep us in suspense and great acting job of Gellar and Pace, who hasNo central great chemistry as a couple and attract the viewer's attention without major complications.
"Possession" promises much in its opening minutes, but it is conventional in its proposal. And what's worse, the original first book to just start blurring the footage in this adaptation. Beyond that, the film reveals and captures our interest in a simple and direct. The great performance by Sarah Michelle Gellar holding the scaffolding that the items look like and how is the film that seemed to be a suspense thriller ends up as a romantic drama. Well, nobody's perfect!
In this age where there are poco again to see fulfilled. The strange thing is that the U.S. was released on DVD by the end of September, bypassing the theaters (and are several cases in which premieres here this type of film) and his expectation was less than moderate. We can only hope to renew the bill with strong titles, meanwhile, "Multiple personality" can be seen.
