Surely you remember to Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. German, a gifted filmmaker as hard as he has given the European film in years ... His landing in Hollywood and big production is nothing less than this film, "The Tourist", with two of the top grossing stars of the industry: Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. In itself, when the jump is so great a suspicion about what is going to see ... And in this case, the seniority of the reporter is right,Florian is going to take a while to find their place in the big leagues ...
When one prepares a film, the cast is very important. It is true that there are many pressures and vested interests at the time of naming the different characters of a script. But the choice of actors is crucial. On occasion, save the unsalvageable, and other sink what could have been good ... Here, it was not happy. Not that the actions of Angelina and Johnny are bad, but what is alarming is the lack of chemistry. Comúny have nothing in it shows on screen. Moreover, the two struggle to break away from their usual roles in popular films and the genre (accióny adventures) andthis attitude of wanting to do something other than ruining your work.
Thus, beyond the office of von Donnersmarck, "The Tourist" is a discrete product, and it hurts, when we expected much more of a director of such magnitude.
The story tries to look like those Hitchcock films where personalities are changed, intrigue abounds and no one knows that danger lurks at every turn. That wants to be the spirit of "tourist." But we split, first, let's see what the story is ... Johnny Deep is

Venice is beautifully photographed. It looks like a documentary in that sense, and it is good to see her on the big screen but ... I must say that is not enough to frame the film and give you the strength that is lacking from the start.
A shame, a lot of money invested (it shows eh!) And the result is a mediocre product that can sleep peacefully on the shelves of your favorite Videoclub months. Expect and even if you feel like watching it, rent it quiet. No more reasons than that price.
